Light weight Jig with a slow fall. Jig Head paired with a buoyant soft plastic will sink very slowly and is perfect for this approach. This approach is effective because a slow freefall gives the schooled bass plenty of time to notice and strike at the bait as it flutters past.
Creature baits and tubes work best for this technique, as they create plenty of movement. If there is no take on the fall, working your Jig back to the boat with a jigging motion offers the fish one more chance. Pop the rod tip and give two or three turns of the reel. In colder water, a slower retrieve may be the ticket.
